Beyond the classroom, Our Lady Immaculate School fosters a vibrant environment where students can explore their interests and develop new skills. We offer a wide range of before and after-school clubs designed to provide a fun and relaxed space for children to mature, grow, and discover their passions.

Newspaper Club

The OLI news team will research and write some of the articles for one of our regular student-led newsletters throughout the year. They will find out about events going on in our school and interview those involved to research the stories.
Also, next academic year, our school will celebrate its 70th anniversary and throughout the year, we will be creating a souvenir magazine to mark this exciting occasion. The children will find out about how OLI has changed over the years and help to collate and write articles so that our school community and local community can read all about it. It will be shared at the end of the school year.

Homework Club - invitation only

In Homework Club, children have a supportive space to complete their homework with the help of our staff and additional resources. It's designed for students who may need a bit more assistance with their learning or face challenges completing it at home. Our goal is to support immediate needs while helping students build habits that encourage independent learning at home over time.

A World of Imagination!

Do you love books and stories? Do you want to enter a magical world through stories, art and drama? Join us every Thursday for fun, games and a world of imagination. We will start each session with a story or animation. We will then create new characters and scenarios using art, drama and music. Each session will include time to relax and chat about our day.

This club is open to Year 1 and Year 2.

Y5/6 Football Club

Take part in lots of fun skill-based activities which will develop your dribbling, passing and shooting skills. We will also take part in small-sided matches where you can better understand tactics as well as try to score or stop those all-important goals. Join Mr Keady for this club on Fridays!

Drama Club

Running Club

Join Miss Mayle and Mr Keady for Running Club on a Wednesday morning at Alexandra Park. As well as taking part in some long runs around the park which will develop your stamina, you will also take part in some team-based activities focusing on speed and agility. It is a great energetic start to the day, with each member feeling a sense of pride and achievement all before 8.45 am!

This club will be open to children of all running abilities in years 4 to 6, whether they are new to distance running or regularly attend Parkruns. The aim of this is very much for the participating children to achieve personal bests and embrace the joy of running.

Chess Club

Join our exciting new chess club and discover the amazing world of chess. Learn new tactics, outsmart your opponents, and make new friends. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, there’s a place for you in our club.

Clay Bead Club

Threading Beads is one FUN and excellent activity for the little ones which allows them to explore their creative sides while at the same time, promoting many skills that kids at their age are working to master.

Fine motor skills play an imperative role in your child’s cognitive development for performing skills that use small muscles in the hand, finger, and thumb such as writing. Threading beads promotes coordination of both hands and eyes and encourages children to develop planning and problem-solving skills. This club will also help them to think about which pattern or colours they would want to follow and determine how long they would want their necklace or bracelets to be.

Board Games Club

At board games club you get to learn how to play new board games that you haven't tried before or play games that you may already know.  We play a variety of games from chess, and backgammon to dice games like Yahtzee and Shut the Box to card games like sevens and Dobble.  Board games club gives you the chance to relax and play a game after school, or hone your strategic thinking skills while playing games.  Come and join us for some games and fun.

Lego Club

Playing with LEGO® individually and in a small group can benefit children in so many incredible ways. LEGO® building can take time and can test children’s patience, especially when that one important LEGO® piece takes forever to find! In a world where children often want instant gratification, the building process can help children understand that to get good results, it can take time and hard work can pay off! Following instructions, planning what piece comes next, waiting for their turn and listening to others (when building in a group) all take focus and can hugely help with children who sometimes need a little extra help with concentration. At Lego club, children have the opportunity to work alongside children from other year groups. Throughout the term members of the Lego club have the opportunity to follow premade LEGO® kits, free build and complete challenges such as building the tallest tower or using limited coloured bricks. Crochet Club

If you are looking for a fun and creative way to keep your child entertained, our unique CROCHET CLUB is the perfect solution. Crocheting involves using small and precise movements with the hands and fingers, which can help your child's fine motor skills and allows children to express their creativity by choosing colours, patterns and designs for their projects. Students will learn how to make the basic chains and other easy stitches. It is a great craft that kids can enjoy. It also teaches them important skills like hand-eye coordination and patience. Children will build their concentration. These skills will come in handy throughout their life from school projects to their first job.
